Corn Chips? Really?

Yep!

Corn tortilla chips, particularly flavored tortilla chips, have been the crunch of choice for the Taco Salad since the 1960’s, however the first Taco Salads (called TaCups, and sold in 1955 at Casa de Fritos in Disneyland), were served with corn chips.

Without the commercial availability of the seasoned tortilla chip, the Taco Salad may never have become a popular household staple meal.
